Some Observational
Demographics
Well, all
kinds of folks, actually. But in my years on the net I have
noticed some trends that I find interesting. One thing I have
found is that necrophilia is simply one of many sexual fantasies.
I have found NO difference in the kind of person who may be interested
in necro over someone else who may be interested in, say, S&M or
asphyx fantasies . First off I think if we look at sexual
fantasies, or "kinks", in general there are some notable...
demographics, for lack of a better word. Keep in mind that these
are MY observations and even at that they are general trends and should
not be taken as absolutes.
In
general, folks that express their sexual fantasies in chats on the net
tend to be outgoing types to a degree... and/or creatively expressive
types. These folks tend to have jobs in the professions...
doctors, lawyers, educators, politicians, etc. People in the
graphic arts, advertising, computer programmers (those who are allowed
to be creative... not sit-behind-a-monitor-and-code-all-day types), law
enforcement, the medical profession, and entrepreneurs of all types
(cause they tend to be expressive risk-takers). It seems there
may be some link with a basic "stress level" of professions, and a
personal drive; occupations with deadlines. Conversely, I have
seldom seen, by comparison, blue collar folks, people in the trades, or
(biting my lip as I say this...) divorced women with two kids living in
a trailer park.
Necrophilia tends to be primarily a
male fantasy, mostly because men require more visual sexual stimuli to
orgasm, I would guess... and the fact that nature made us more dominant
sexually. Women on the other hand, are far more
sexually complex and require more direct physcial and
emotional stimuli to orgasm... something that simply "just laying
there" doesn't quite accomplish with many females. But again,
nature has made the woman a sexual submissive so sometimes "just laying
there" can be a stimuli in itself to some. But
unfortunately there is a distinct and all too apparent link between
females (and in some males as well... but rare by comparison) who have
been abused or have suffered some past trauma, like rape, to have
sexual interests 'out of the ordinary'. In many cases these
sexual interests manifest themselves in the more extreme fantasies that
suggest a level of personal submission and humiliation (S&M, rape
fantasies, being "snuffed" violently, etc); probably an emotional
extension of self-punishment for the guilt released by the trauma.
As far as
age group goes that's where I see a difference between men and
women. Let's take necro for instance... that seems to be an
outgoing expressive interest of guys in their late 30's through their
40's, and beyond. With women it seems to be from their late 20's
through their 30's. Here again, I am talking about the point at which
people, in effect, "come out of the closet", or begin to question and
explore their feelings.
Teenagers are an interesting subset to
all of this. Those are the wonder years for sex and understanding
one's own sexuality. There tends to be an "awakening" on
the part of teenage girls to sleepysex fantasies... dreaming of someone
making love to them while they are sleeping, or even being raped.
Maybe that has something to do with wanting to try out sex yet being
afraid to because of parents or society. Dreaming of sex while
sleeping or being raped could be a way of dealing with the unconscious
guilt.. who knows. Again, many female teens who have been victims
of trauma can also fit into this catagory.
Generally, teen guys into the necro and extreme fantasies I
have found to be rare, or they are just keeping to themselves. I
have to think that their hormonal levels exploding tend to push the
more kinky fantasies aside in preference for the more 'sex direct'
fantasies (penile penetration of anything available, less foreplay)...
sex with the hot teacher, sex with the hot cheerleader (not to be
confused with 'cheerleader sex' fantasies), sex with Britney Spears,
sex with Miss November, sex with a towel, etc.
Are there
any ethnic or racial trends? Well, I hesitate speculating on this
a bit cause there could be other socio-economic reasons for some of
this. As I've already mentioned, there is a fair share of Asians
and Eastern European folks into this. I only know of a couple
black people into this... but I'm not sure if this is a cultural thing
or simply one of economics, ie, how many blacks have PC's compared to
other groups? Hispanics are similar... although their sexual
history tends to drift toward a macho role on the part of men... necro
doesn't present itself as being an overly macho sexual interest.
So that could be a cultural thing as well.
Another major trend with folks having
an interest in more unorthadox or death-related fetishes and fantasies
are those people who are in a level of manic depression, bio-polar, or
something clinically similar. It is not uncommon to find people,
women in particular, who are into depression as a result of a
genetic disorder or past trauma of abuse to find these fantasies
attractive. I suppose the reasons for this are varied.
Enhanced sexual activity is a classic reaction to emotional depression
in general. It's part and parcel to the mind's defensive
mechanisms ability to deal with the painful mood cycles. Sex can
place the mind into a more pleasant state as a kind of pain
reliever. Also, sex can be a way a depressive person searches for
emotional acceptance, attention, and love. Tuning into death
fantasies can be a manifestation of guilt and subsequent
self-punishment for somehow thinking they are responsible for the past
abuse. I've found this occurs mostly with victims of trauma like
rape or sexual abuse in the home with both sexes.
The whole
point to all this is that sexual fantasies most everyone has. But
the more extreme or graphically detailed fetishes and fantasies seem to
favor those people with with more active lives, people with personal
drive and ambition, and people who have more expressive traits.
But remember, these are simply my own observations. Perhaps one
of you researchers would like to take a survey and share your results
with me.
